Return Policy

PRODUCT RETURN/REFUND/REPLACEMENT POLICY

A. REPLACEMENTS AND REPAIRS AFTER DELIVERY

CDA products damaged in transit will be subject to replacement or repair free of charge. Refunds will not be offered as a remedy for shipping damage. Any replacement items will be manufactured by CDA in an expedited fashion, but within a reasonable time frame, sufficient for creating a high-quality replacement.

The conditions for product replacement or repair are listed below.

For the repair or replacement to take place, the product must be shipped back to CDA Fish Tanks, in which case we will be responsible for the freight charges, but no other associated charges (customer will be responsible for crating the product for return shipping and being present for appointments with the shipping company).

For a free repair/replacement to take place, damage must be reported immediately upon receipt (AND MUST BE MARKED ON THE FREIGHT COMPANY'S DELIVERY RECEIPT). It is advisable that all crates are opened and inspected in the presence of the delivery agent. In such cases that it is impossible and concealed damage is found after the delivery receipt has been signed, this damage must be documented immediately with time-stamped photos and reported within 48 hours

The customer assumes the responsibility of inspecting the tank within the 48 hour period allowed to report damage. Customer's choice to store the crate unopened for a longer period of time or leave the wrappings on the tank will not be considered a legitimate reason to extend the reporting period for transit damage.

B. RETURNS AND REFUNDS AFTER DELIVERY

Products displaying observable manufacturing and/or cosmetic defects (scratches, dings, chips, etc.) upon delivery are subject to repair, replacement, or refund, based on the individual circumstances. The conditions for processing repair, replacement, or refund based on cosmetic defects are listed below.

All cosmetic defects have to be reported within 48 hours of receiving the aquarium. The customer assumes the responsibility of inspecting the tank within the 48 hour period allowed to report cosmetic defects. Customer's choice to store the crate unopened for a longer period of time or leave the wrappings on the tank will not be considered a legitimate reason to extend the reporting period for cosmetic defects.

Cosmetic flaws such as scratches and bubbles will only be accepted for a claim in the event that they are observable under the normal conditions of viewing the tank (that is, under normal lighting, perpendicular to the surface of the glass, and from a distance of at least 6 feet away). These conditions are consistent and in fact more stringent than ASTM standards for visual glass inspection. It is important to understand that there is no such thing as flawless glass and that minor scratches, bubbles or inclusions will be present in the glass as part of the manufacturing and handling process. Flaws discovered by examining the glass from a close distance, at an angle, or under bright directed lighting will not be accepted as cause for a claim.

For coverage of structural defects, please refer to our warranty.

C. DEPOSIT RETURN POLICY

Deposits are generally non-refundable. Part of the deposit can be refunded at our discretion and only in the event no materials have yet been ordered for the build. 15% of the deposit (i.e. 7.5% of the whole build cost) is fully and absolutely non-refundable and accounts for our costs quoting and designing your tank and transaction fees. Tanks and stands that are manufactured and not picked up by customers after 3 attempts to contact the customer become the property of CDA Fish Tanks with no obligations arising as to refunding any portion of the deposit.
